On 2nd September 1991, the Rona Tranby Trust was launched at a public ceremony held at Tranby Aboriginal College in the presence of the Minister assisting the Premier on Aboriginal and Ethnic Affairs, Paul Zammit. The three initial Trustees were Kevin Tory (Tranby), Margaret Gutman (NSWJBD) and Roland Gridiger (Executors).

Tranby Aboriginal College
Tranby Aboriginal College is Australia's oldest, independent indigenous education provider and is a function of the Co-operative for Aborigines Limited. The College is a not-for-profit organisation established in 1958 and provides various educational, training and social action services for the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student communities.
